A possible way to improve eyewitness testimony?

Apparently moving your eyes horizontally for 30 seconds improves your recall. In an experiment similar to the one we did in class, the researchers had students listen to a list of words that "converged" on a word, but never said it (eye, thread, sewing, etc... all converge on "needle", but "needle" wasn't in the list). After hearing the list of words, 1/3 of the students moved their eyes horizontally for 30 seconds, 1/3 moved their eye vertically for 30 seconds, and the last 1/3 did nothing. Those that moved their eyes horizontally did not include needle 10% more often than the other groups.
So if you see a crime, move your eyes horizontally back and forth for 30 seconds and you'll have no problem passing the Manson test.
